	Walking This area offers some truly wonderful walks for all ages and abilities starting either at the house or just a short drive away.  From trails in the Argyll Forest Park around Loch Goil to the long distance Cowal Way which passes through the glen. You will find find challenging Corbetts such as Beinn Bheula and The Cobbler and the famous Munros of the Arrochar Alps.
	Horse Riding Enjoy a trek in the glorious Argyll countryside on the shores of Loch Fyne from the Duke of Argyll’s stables, there are rides availble for all abilities. (Travel time: 30 minutes)
	Boating & Fishing Whether you just want to enjoy a lazy day on the loch, enjoy a day’s fishing or go seal or porpoise spotting you can hire a boat and fishing tackle locally in the glen.  A truly magical way to spend the day and see the loch’s wildlife. (Travel time:5 minutes)
	Cruising Cruise on Loch Lomond and discover the secrets of this famous Loch.  There are a varitiety of different cruises available including one where you can discover the legend of Rob Roy. (Travel time: 30 minutes).  You can also book a daytime boat trip on Loch Goil, or an evening wine & dine cruise.
	Golf Loch Goil has its own nine hole golf course at the Drimsynie Estate (Travel time: 5 minutes), or you can go a little further afield to Inveraray (Travel time: 25 minutes), Dalmally (Travel time: 60 minutes) or visit the famous Carrick Course on Loch Lomond (Travel time: 45 minutes).
	Adventure Activities Would you like to go Canoeing, Abseiling, Hill Walking or Rock Climbing? Staying around Loch Goil means you are easily in one of the best locations to access a host of outdoor activities in the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park. Read more……
	Swimming, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, amusements, bowls, gym & fitness.    Just a few minutes from Rhumhor all these activities are available at the Drimsynie Leisure Estate.  There is also a children’s play centre, family bar and restaurant. (Travel time: 5 minutes)
	Simulated Deer Stalking & Wildlife Safari Experience a simulated deer stalking hunt or a professionally led wildlife & bird watching tour with Insight Venision based in Dunoon. Explore the forests and hills of Argyll in all terrain vehicles (8 wheeled Argocat) and on foot. This is a beautiful part of the Cowal Peninsula; you’ll be shown parts not usually accessible to the public. (Travel time: 45 minutes)
	Mountain Biking You can bring your own bikes or hire them locally for a half day, full day, weekend or full week. There is an endless choice of tracks and paths in and around Loch Goil for the keen mountain biker. Go west to Loch Fyne on paths, single and double track, go north climbing high above the Rest and Be Thankful then head south from the picnic area on to Ardgartan Forest or Arrochar. You can also follow paths on either side of Loch Goil itself and round to Loch Long.
	Photography During your stay why not book a session with Loch Goil’s professional photographer – Derek Prescott. Learn the basics of taking great photographs or brush up on your exisiting skills. You have such stunning scenery and amazing wildlife on your doorstop for practice!
	Children’s Activites Many of the activites above are ideal for children and they will also enjoy grabbing a fishing net and exploring the shore line of Loch Goil where they’ll find crabs, star fish and clappy doos. Just five minutes down the road is a children’s activity centre which is ideal for the days when the weather is being less kind. (Travel time: 5 minutes)
	Shopping If you fancy a little retail therapy you can either drive or catch the train into one of the big cities or alternatively visit The Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park’s own shopping centre Loch Lomond Shores located at Balloch at the head of the loch. (Travel time: 45 minutes) Here you will find a host of lovely shops including the world famous Jenners and the outdoor shop Hawkeshead. For some traditional shops visit Inveraray, you’ll find the Edinburgh Woollen Mill, The Loch Fyne Whiskies shop and even a Christmas Shop! (Travel time: 30 minutes)
	Winter Sports Winter skiing, snowboarding and sledging are available at Glencoe Mountain Resort. 19 runs across 7 lifts catering for skiers and boarders of all levels. Complete beginners can enjoy the gentle plateau runs while experts can experience the incredible variety of terrain, including the longest and steepest runs in Scotland. (Travel time: 1 hour 30 minutes)

If you’d like to go further afield Rhumhor House is the perfect base for touring the Highlands and Islands. Day trips by car from Rhumhor House can take in the stunning Glen Coe, Oban – the gateway to the Isles, the architecturally distinguished town of Inveraray with its historic museum jail and fairytale castle, and the lovely fishing harbours of Tarbert and Crinan.
